Chose this gradient for the shapes rather than trying to find suitable background colors. I am a little disappointed that it came out looking “checkered”…but in postprocessing I had the image size too large, without a good idea of what was happening over the image in general…one of those classic beginner’s mistakes. I suppose I’d be better off to do colors in the preview rather than waiting until afterward! Better yet, I have been advised to do them after rendering when a smaller version can be temporarily made for such work, as long as the fractal itself is not changed.
This image is probably best viewed up close…at a distance, I admit that it’s hard on the eyes! Higher DE stop might have helped this, even if it changes the image significantly.
